Every year on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, children around the world ask, ‘When is children’s day?” Answers vary according to the wit and mood of parents, but in the communities along the Dan River, the answer should be, “The day before Father’s Day!”
On Saturday, June 16, the Danville Children’s Festival will celebrate “A Walk on the Wild Side” at Crossing at the Dan, at 629 Craghead St. in Danville, Virginia. Admission is free, along with admission to the nearby Danville Science Center.
Events and activities at the festival include kid’s fitness classes and yoga, Fish the Magish, Splash Zone, Scrap Exchange Make’n’Take program, and more. The festival features dinosaurs from Dakota and Friends, including a baby dinosaur hatching from its egg, the chance to ride on dinosaurs, and walking dinosaurs.
Children should wear clothes suitable for water and outdoor play. Flip flops will not be allowed in the water play areas.
